Overview

If you haven't figured it out for yourself already, this fine Text Based Role Playing Forum takes its genre and subject under that of the anime/manga of Bleach. We dedicate our work in providing you an alternate dimension of this great production that is as realistic as possible to the actual anime/manga itself, while still removing the original characters and storyline. For this reason alone, each and every faction, rank, and 'race' if you so wish to call it is available. If you are confused about any of these at all, or are perhaps a little behind on the anime/manga, here is where you may learn all you need to know.

Shinigami
Shinigami, otherwise known as 'Death Gods' are the main type of character within the Bleach anime/manga. As their name implies, each and everyone one of them are spirits that have died and moved on to soul society. What sets them apart from normal spirits that have passed on, is their ability to control and manipulate reitsu. Most Shinigami get their beginnings in the academy which trains them in the way of being a Shinigami if they show this ability. Each Shinigami wields a Zanpakto, which is a weapon from their very soul, forged from the contract they make with a certain spirit. It is this spirit that gives them power other than their own reitsu, allowing the Zanpakuto itself to expand to Shikai, and even Bankai. It is their main attack source. Most Shinigami, those that have not gone rogue, are separated into 13 different squads, known as the Gotei 13.

In the Gotei 13, there are different types of Ranks. Each squad has these ranks and are used greatly in terms of laws.

  • Captain [1st Seat]
  • Vice-Captain [2nd Seat]
  • 3rd Seat - 20th Seat
  • Unseated Officers

Captains of the Gotei 13 are the most respected and most powerful of the shinigami. Thirteen of them hold positions in the Gotei. Only one may hold this spot.

Vice Captains are the second in command of their division, under their captain. They are generally the second most powerfull in their division and the most trusted. Only one may hold this spot.

Seats three through twenty are arranged in terms of power. A captain is in charge of assigning a seat to a member dependent on their skills and abilities. The lower the number, the weaker the shinigami is. When it comes to these seats, more than one member may be of a seat. [Example: 2 members may be the third seat.]

Unseated Officers are not assiged to any single division. They are in truth, still shinigami, but they hold no rank.

Obtination.
To obtain these ranks, it requires a bit of rules and guides.

- (Aside from starting out as Seated Officer) To become a Seated from an Unseated, you must have appoval from your captain.
- (Aside from starting out as Vice Captain)To becme a Vice Captain, you must have your Captains approval to be promoted.
- (Aside from starting out as Captain) To become a Captain, you must do one of the following:

Note: All of these must be followed with a Request.
  • Captain proficiency test: A test which requires the ability to perform Bankai. Presumably, most shinigami become captains using this method. At least three existing captains, including the Captain-Commander, have to witness the test.
  • Trial by Combat: To defeat a captain one-on-one with at least 200 witnesses from the captain's division.

Quincy

The Quincy are a line of spiritually aware human warriors. Originally a mixture of survivors of Hollow attacks and those who had lost loved ones to Hollows, the Quincy developed a variety of supernatural powers to hunt and kill Hollows before they attacked humans (and to destroy those who already had), including the ability to control Spiritual Energy. The Quincy are still technically human and reside in the world of the living.

In the Quincy World, there is a leader, and then there are his generals. The rest of the populace are merely normal. The Leader is the most powerful and usually the eldest, where their experience is needed. His Generals are his trusted advisors and are Elder Quincy where age is not a matter, but strength and maturity is. These six have unrelinquished access to their archives on the Soul Society and the Bounts, which hold information on the two factions, but nothing in specifics. The rest of their faction are merely tools to an end where the Leader loves them like children. Below is how to become each of these ranks:

  • To become the Leader - You must make the character, or in special cases be promoted by the Administration.
  • To become an Elder Quincy - You must be on this forum for at least three months, except for the two who may make Elder Quincys as their character. You must also be hand picked by the Administration and Leader in a joint effort.
  • To become a Normal Quincy - You must register for a character.

Arrancar/Espada

An Arrancar is a Hollow that has removed its mask and has gained Shinigami-like powers. The name "Arrancar" is a Spanish verb meaning "to remove" or "to rip off", a reference to an Arrancar's removal of its Hollow mask. The Espada are the top-ranked Arrancar. Each Espada member is chosen for their superior combat ability and then assigned a number from 1 to 10 (with 1 being the strongest, while 10 being the weakest) that indicates their rank and relative power level, which is tattooed somewhere on their body.

The Números are the combat specialists. They are assigned a two digit number at birth from 11 to 99 to indicate their age (Número 11 being the oldest, while Número 99 is the youngest). The basic Número uniform consists of a white-collared jacket and robes held with a black sash. However, the uniform is customizable, giving each Número a sense of individuality. The fighting ability of Números is thought to be superior to all other Arrancar, except for the Espada (current and former).

  • To Become an Espada - You can do this one of two ways. The first is to simply register your character [If a spot is open to do so] The second will prove to be a bit more difficult. If you are an Arrancar Numeros and you wish to become an Espada you may challange a ranked Espada to a battle. The winner of this battle will take the Espada spot.

  • To Become a Números - Register your character.

Bount

Bounts are living beings just as Quincy are, but the difference being they have a special component that is encompassed by a human soul. Bounts absorb human souls, making them their own. It is these abilities that have named Bounts at various times in Human history as vampires. As the accidental creations of a Shinigami scientist they were once affiliated with Soul Society. Currently the Bounts in general are only a small tribe of beings from what they once were. Due to their circumstance they are neither affiliated with Soul Society nor the living world, they are pariahs, accepted in neither dimension.

In the Bount World, there is a leader, and then there are his generals. The rest of the populace are merely normal. The Leader is the most powerful and usually the eldest, where their experience is needed. His Generals are his trusted advisors and are Elder Bounts where age is not a matter, but strength and maturity is. These six have unrelinquished access to their archives on the Soul Society and the Quincy, which hold information on the two factions, but nothing in specifics. The rest of their faction are merely tools to an end where the Leader loves them like children. Below is how to become each of these ranks:

  • To become the Leader - You must make the character, or in special cases be promoted by the Administration.
  • To become an Elder Bount - You must be on this forum for at least three months, except for the two who may make Elder Bounts as their character. You must also be hand picked by the Administration and Leader in a joint effort.
  • To become a Normal Bount - You must register for a character.

Hollows

Hollow are a race of creatures which are born from Human souls who, for various reasons, do not cross over to Soul Society after their death and stay in the Human World for too long. They are corrupt spirits with supernatural powers that devour the souls of both living and deceased humans. To become a:

  • Hollow Leader/Vasto Lorde - Vasto Lorde are the most-powerful class of Menos, and the final stage in the Menos evolutionary line. They appear to be about the size of a Human and apparently appear to be completely humanoid. They are said to surpass an average Captain-Class Shinigami in battle abilities. Vasto Lorde are the least common form of Menos, but the exact population is unknown. There may only be two Vasto Lordes at one time, the Hollow Leader being one. You may register for the Hollow Leader, but you must obtain the Vasto Lorde to RP.
  • Adjuchas - Adjuchas are the middle class of Menos in terms of power, and the second stage of Menos evolution. Adjuchas can vary radically in appearance; anywhere from bulky humanoids to the jaguar-like form of Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez. The are typically much smaller than Gillians, but significantly-larger than a Human. They are also-much smarter than the Gillian-class, and have the power to challenge a captain. It is also likely they could fight evenly with at least a Shinigami lieutenant. To become an Adjuchas you must register.
  • Basic Hollow - These are the weakest of all Hollows; all you must do is register.

To go up the evolutionary chain:

  • From Basic Hollow to Adjuchas - Get 5 Kills
  • From Adjuchas to Vasto Lorde - Get 10 Kills (15 in total)

Vizards

Having begun as Shinigami, the Vizard appear entirely Human and bar those times where they are using their powers are indistinguishable from ordinary Shinigami. To gain access to their Hollow powers, a Vizard dons a Hollow mask. This allows them to augment their Shinigami abilities with Hollow powers, as well as giving them access to some of the more generic Hollow abilities. Their spiritual pressure likewise changes into a mix of Hollow and Shinigami. This process of donning one's Hollow mask is referred to as Hollowfication.

To become a Vizard:

  • Leader - Register.
Elder Vizard - You must be on this forum for at least three months, except for the two who may make Elder Vizards as their character. You must also be hand picked by the Administration and Leader in a joint effort.
Vizard - The first five [5] total Vizards are allowed to be made, after that, you must request Hollowfication.

Human

A Human is a being who appears in Bleach. The Humans in Bleach resemble those of our world. Most characters who live on Earth are Human. Some Humans may develop a way to sense spirits and are known as "High-Spec".

To become a Human:

  • Leader - Make an application.
  • Advanced Human - Be selected by the Staff and Leader.
  • Normal Human - Make an application.

The Leader is the quintessence of power, while the Advanced Humans are their 'Generals' so to speak. A normal human can be affiliated with anyone.
